An ode to the neo-grotesque web
- h2odragon 3y agoIts really hard to make a "Neo-grotesque" (I would say "minimally styled") site whothout content, however. So many of the frameworks with animated transitions and multiple gradients and all the visual flash get used mostly to disguise the fact that they're presenting very little actual information. If you have something interesting to say, real information to share, then the details of the presentation are far less impactful. Another to throw on the example pile: https://www.stroustrup.com/ https://www.stroustrup.com/
- vraelgrad 3y agoOh yeah. But the distracting fluff usually can't cover for the lack of good content. My personal favorite: https://fabiensanglard.net https://fabiensanglard.net. Love how minimal and distraction free the site is. You immediately know what he writes about and the front page doesn't ask you to click around a gazillion links to find out content.
