  Yeah, it's funny, right? I think it's interesting to look at the progression of such messaging through different stages of development. In the West where we are already "moderately prosperous society in all respects", the control marches under the guise of "safety". Perfectly noble goal if that's what it is, but of course, can be used as a pretext to suppress. In China, where they are aiming for and yet to reach that economic goal, what is the messaging under? I'm not an expert but I'm guessing it's something like, "ensure stability and harmony"...but maybe it's also safety? Anyone know?
