If you're annoyed with the search box you can disable it or flash GrapheneOS or LineageOS. My partner is always having a hard time transferring her iPhone photos to her desktop. Finally gave up and bought iCloud storage. Apple has better integration with their peripherals though. No stupid app to use the heaphones, create other accounts etc. Their Apple Air Pods setup is just integrated in the OS. I have Sonys and absolutely hate their 4.7 star rated app, nags you to create an account and give it access to the camera in order to optimize your sound.
