Oh No, I Kinda Want to Work for Elon
- nullindividual 3y ago> As usual, he went back to the purpose of why they were there. The mission. “What the hell do I wanna go off and go to work for? Work for what? Money?” This says a lot about how evil Musk as a person is. The rich telling the poors that they shouldn't be working for money. If it were up to the Musks of the world, they would be working for some other intangible asset. This is the level of an "influencer" who wants products for free to "give them exposure". What is disappointing is that the author gives Musk the credit for company turn arounds, product turn arounds, and so on. Musk is clearly incompetent as demonstrated with Twitter. Do not credit this person for other's work.
- allears 3y agoUm if you read the article it says that quote was actually from Charles Manson.
- injb 3y agoHow many poor people do you think work for SpaceX?
- ThrowawayR2 3y agoI sometimes wonder if this site is really Hacker News. While sanity or decency aren't something he seems to be particularly well acquainted with, Musk is obviously not telling poor people to work for peanuts here. He's telling talented people, the sort of people who have their pick of jobs, to take a chance on something that might benefit humanity and push back the frontiers of knowledge rather than simply chasing money for themselves. The sort of attitude that, y'know, hackers might find cool?
- nullindividual 3y agoNothing Musk does is "cool". He consumes air and produces CO2 while supplying greenbacks he didn't make. Other people do the real work for him and feed him only what he wants to hear (see his "handlers" at SpaceX that largely keep him OUT of the day-to-day business -- contrast his with abject failure of Twitter where he has direct control). Stop letting the billionaire take other people's credit. We already have to deal with bosses like that. It's shameful that anyone on HN idolizes this person.
