Dunno why you're getting downvoted from this. All that deregulation did increase America's GDP, but at the cost of income inequality and lack of real wage growth for most. If you're lucky enough to get into a profession for upper-middle class people, you'll be in good shape (like most of the people on this forum). Most people don't make it. Perhaps that's where the downvotes come from, is the tendency of people to think subconsciously, "I did it; everyone else can too, it's not that hard".
