A friend of mine is named William, but generally goes by Bill. This has and does cause a variety of issues, some minor but others that need many hours of bureaucratic effort to resolve. Having a former legal name like this seems likely to cause substantially more future static than that. Imposing that effort of your child for clickbait: not really a journalistic moment to be proud of.
