Analogously, I'm not sure pornography could ever get so realistic or customizable that it was preferable to having a relationship with a person. At the margins, there will always be some percentage of people who would do that, but there were and are people who disengage with human relationships already, and my guess is it's going to be about the same percentage in the future.
