I'm confused. Is this WSL1 version 2.0? Or WSL2 version 2.0?
- wtallis 3y agoThe answer is either no, or both.
- hx8 3y agoOr is WSL 1 and WSL2 shipped in a package called "WSL" that just reached version 2.0
- tapoxi 3y agoThis is WSL version 2.0 which contains WSL 1 and WSL 2, and though it's a Windows Subsystem for Linux it's actually a Linux Subsystem for Windows. How are they so bad at naming things?
- oktoberpaard 3y agoWith WSL 1 there is no Linux involved, it’s a Windows subsystem to handle Linux system calls with the NT kernel. I sort of get the name in that regard. WSL 2 is just a tightly integrated VM running a real Linux kernel, and the name makes no sense there.
