I don't use cash much, except at the farmer's market and for small purchases. But I do pay a lot of bills by check. I get quite a few invoices in the mail with a tear-off enclosure and a reply envelope, so I write maybe 5 or more checks a month. Anyway, as noted by other commenters, why should I pay a ridiculous percentage to a bunch of middlemen?
- iwanttocomment 3y agoYou know you can get a no-fee checking account from Capital One or SoFi or others, and then use their bill-pay systems to pay all of your bills (even ones that require a paper check, which they will send on your behalf) for absolutely nothing, right? You could go from paying money for stamps to paying... nothing at all. I pay literally nothing in bank fees every year, and end up having to write a check maybe... twice? Usually to a low-end specialty contractor.
