I feel like the implementation of this was needlessly complex. Instead of running all that CAT6, why not use some ESP32's and throw up a few AP's? You could also wire up multiple rooms to one MCU to cut down the amount of devices needed. Hell, if you wanted to do a prebuilt solution, ESPHome is almost perfect for being able to quickly spin up an ESP32 with button inputs (and debouncing) and control of some relays. Pipe the communication over MQTT and handle the messaging using some server software.
