- fanf2 3y agoNo, the minimum allocation is a /24 (for v4) or a /32 (for v6)
- erinnh 3y agoIts a /48 for IPv6. Thats what I have in my RIPE Account.
- fanf2 3y agoAs I understand it, the current policy allocates /48 for special purposes. Normally allocations that small are supposed to come from an LIR, not directly from an RIR.
- erinnh 3y agoI was sponsored by a LIR for RIPE, but RIPE is the entity that gives out the /48 for me specifically. Its still PI space that I can announce with any ISP. I could request a /32, but a /48 is definitely enough for me. Might request a second /48 at some point maybe.
- 22c 3y agoLast I checked, the smallest blocks for sale are class C. I also don't think there are many places willing to announce your ultra specific route because it's not great for routing tables.
- RockRobotRock 3y agoI think a colo would be happy to announce your /24, wouldn't they?
- 22c 3y agoA /24 sure, but GP was asking about buying a single IP address.
- greyface- 3y ago> class C You can also acquire and use a /24 out of a class A or B block, thanks to this newfangled thing called CIDR. ;)
- 22c 3y agoEh sorry I meant a /24 not specifically a class C
- _ikke_ 3y agoThe smallest prefix that can be routed is a /24, so that's the minimum amount you can get.
