I don't really understand why Elon Musk is making political statements at all. Isn't he a businessman and not a politician?

  Elon is a Renaissance man who understands many things experts in their fields don't understand because they make it too complicated. By throwing away existing body of knowledge without looking at it he can avoid all the nuance and thorny issues that might invalidate the simple solutions that pop into his mind. He can save us with this kind of first principles thinking

  I mean.......that's been all corporations for at least the past decade? Ever since the Walk on Wallstreet protests, corporations have been trying to "team up" with the populace by getting into politics
