Is it possible that someone could start some kind of IPv4 ETF? Would be interesting to see - call it the Web 1.0 ETF.
- scrps 3y agoTurning a critical peice of internet infrastructure into a financial toy for wall st would be a bit akin to taking all the physical barriers to access off of the nuclear football, authenticating it, and leaving it in a room full of bored children. Don't do that.
- greyface- 3y agoRIRs oversee all IP ownership changes, and will generally not approve them unless they satisfy a documented technical need. So far, this has (mostly) prevented people from financializing IPv4.
