What does it even mean what a user "wants"? I want to eat 3 cinnamon rolls. I also want to be fitter. Everyone has contradictory wants, it is not a binary choice. The point is whether the tools feed our best or worst intentions, and which are easier to exploit. To put the onus on the individual is skewed.
