Codes of Conduct are absolutely, 100% a way to enforce a specific world view. Anyone who disagrees should look up the first SQLite CoC and how the HN community reacted to it. The idea of a code of conduct should be fairly neutral but it never is. I tend to avoid communities with posted CoCs. In reality 90% of people do not care one way or the other, they just want their problems fixed.
