I mean that seems entirely intuitive. Most income flows involve emissions. So the highest income have the highest emissions from income flows. Did the authors somehow think this wasn’t true?

"Top X% of earners/producers responsible for the top Y% of production/expenditures/consumption" is a whole genre. It's great because the top 10% are bad and the rest of us are good. I'll hide under my bed (where I recycle my straw wrappers) if you show me global numbers.
