This kind of title is one that causes normal people to have contempt for science as an institution.
- Quinzel 3y agoI used to really love Kurzgesagt video’s, and while I still find them entertaining, I sometimes feel that the concepts they discuss can be over-simplified to the point where there is a risk that people entirely misunderstand the actual science of what they’re explaining leading people to sometimes make false assumptions/conclusions about other things. I also think because of the over-simplification in some cases people might not be able to distinguish the philosophy and the thought experiments from the science. In saying that, I think these video’s are great for encouraging curiosity and an inquisitive mindset, and it’s thanks to Kurzgesagt that I got obsessed with the fermi paradox and the great filter and the likes - where I went off and did my own self-directed learning on the topic to better understand it.
