The UAW's Unreasonable Demands Will Hurt Labor, and the Economy
- jewelshendo 3y agoPlease. Would you pay for 5 days of groceries to only get 4 no. They are asking for everything that caused them to go bankrupt on a world that has vastly changes since the taxpayers funded them via bailout. Quit comparing the job of a CEO and a job of a line worker... not even close to the same. I agree the CEO' should be capped on performance bonus to let the runoff trickledown but in the current market the rest of us Americans will buy foreign cars because we can afford to buy at a 60% increase. The country is on the brink already. 20% and 3% on paying benefits when the rest of us pay the national average of 28% isn't going to get any sympathy from me. I do like that the Big 3 offered to bridge the cost tiers but what in good faith bargaining is the UAW doing? Certainly not countering any offer submitted and that's how this stuff works. But then again maybe the Feds missed a few of the corrupt when the purged the UAW 3-4 years ago. Bargaining in good faith does not equal what this bureaucratic UAW is doing. I see lots of automation ahead

- dingosity 3y agoI would like to say I evaluated this site on the contents of their argument. But... I landed on the page, noticed the zero margin paragraphs and ads and realized it was put together by a 19 year old trying to look cool in front of his objectivist friends.
- salawat 3y agoThe only thing unreasonable is the relative outflow disparity between between the labor force, & management+shareholders. We're living in a time where C-Suites are openly mocking the people keeping things going & doing the ugly work, while leaning on technologists (us) to make everyone else, and even ourselves obsolete. I personally welcome a labor force uprising. It's about time Capital was brought back down to Earth.
