I've always thought "from -> to" so I'm curious when people use "to <- from".
Is it more common in the UK? Is there a name for this?
- foundart 3y agoOne reason for doing this is to add variety to the sentence structure rather than just repeating the same from- to construction for both items. Whether that’s a good choice in this case is a different matter.
- tom_ 3y agoFrom... to is usual in the UK, and to...from is common for Americans. I don't think I've ever seen both used in the same sentence. (See also: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37250458 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37250458)
