We Think That Product Hunt Is Still a Thing – Here's Why
- CharlesW 3y agoActual title: “How we got our Dev Tool ‘Product of the Day’ in Product Hunt (And Survived)”
- candiddevmike 3y agoWonder how many times that title has been used over the years. Product Hunt seems more like some kind of VC-fueled rite of passage than a thing that really adds value to your end users.
- gemanor 3y agoThat was precisely my thoughts before the launch, but I was surprised by the results. It is not a real thing to launch a startup, but super cool as another marketing tool.
- bass_37 3y agoWell it's not really about adding value to your end users as it is about bringing in new ones. At the end of the day Product Hunt is no more than a nice-to-have marketing tool, and it should be regarded as such imo.
- desmond-grealy 3y agoI'm always impressed when I see the value it brings. Thanks for sharing the experience and notes on how to do it. I always pay attention to these. What confuses me about ProductHunt is that I always assume the users on the site are not the really the target customers in most cases. They're builders and hackers rather than end users (for most products). Somehow it still helps a lot though, for businesses that aren't even like Permit.io -- and for Permit.io obviously the ProductHunt crowd actually is the target user base. So you guys are extra lucky there. Congrats and I really appreciate the post!
