Is the problem more fundamental? Investor controlled/focused businesses are just bad for users and companies in the long run? Especially if investors have short term goals. Some of the easiest ways to make more money is to squeeze the users(more ads) or reduce product quality to the bare minimum as long as it lasts long enough to meet contractual needs. All this at the cost of the user/company.
