You forgot the subset of posts over 150 points where there are more comments than points: where the conversation takes a fanatical bent.
From the past week:
Fine-tune Llama 2 (900 points, 180 comments) -- no flame war or snark, just engineering discussion
Bug in macOS (800 points, 200 comments) -- very short and objective bug report, just one major disagreeable discussion branch
Uninstallers are like malware (800 points, 480 comments) -- even the second page of comments has valid discussion outside most of the last dozen comments
iPhone 15 (750 points, 2000 comments) -- there it is. USB-C anger, annoyance at incrementalness, "every Apple fanboy is rushing to get this and use it for Insta", Apple fanboys (rightly) defending their phone will be supported for nearly a decade what now Asus/Motorola/Sony?!, and then the last two pages are the "grab some popcorn" discussions
(additionally, there's a second post about iPhone 15 Pro with 250 points and 500 comments; similar comment distribution)
-- a few more posts with more points than comments, nothing unusual --
Unity (480 points, 520 comments) -- understandably angry comment section, impressive because very few people have taken Unity's side which is maybe why it is close to the 1:1 points-to-comments ratio
Interactive Map of Linux Kernel (420:30) -- this one has a particularly point-heavy ratio, just a few people pointing out the minor inaccuracies, browser quirks, lots of praise and a few, "How do you do that?"
nothing else on the top 30 has more points than comments, the next one with this distinction is #32, "Uselessness of Phenylephrine," which is not a surprise to me
The next standout to me IS an engineering post with 150 points and 270 comments, but it represents a strong opinion bashing TOML. It's akin to a declaration of which food is the best, and the discussion gets heated but also technical.
