Amazon launches generative AI to help sellers write product copy
- hotstickyballs 3y agoOh nice, even more misleading product pages
- jasfi 3y agoThat's a very good point. Product pages should be accurate and representative about the exact product being sold. If sellers don't carefully review and edit what the generative AI produces, that could make for some very unhappy buyers.

- userbinator 3y agoJust what we need, more generic verbose product descriptions that I'd normally never even read... AI is the epitome of quantity over quality, and Amazon already has a problem with the latter.
- XenophileJKO 3y agoHmmm, I'm not convinced. High-end AI is better than the average human at writing. Add long as some human acts as a discriminator.
- rpgwaiter 3y agoBeing more verbose and sounding like soulless corpo speak doesn't make you better than a human. Maybe syntactically, but spell check has been effective for decades
- thedailymail 3y agoThis will end well.
- jauntywundrkind 3y agoAgain one of these things that web extensions could do so much with, make work so well. And where especially on mobile that would just be so capital. But of course Chrome refuses to allow extensions. There's some excuses that are over a decade old now, about it having a risk of increasing battery drain or taking up cpu. To me, these justifications seem woefully out of date; phones are so much better than they were a decade ago. We can empower users. We should empower users. We should make it the user's agent.
- happytiger 3y agoWell it’s already basically the entirety of recent comments in reviews, so why not the whole shebang? In conclusion/summary is a dead giveaway.
- graboy 3y agoAmazon knows the only way to detect AI generated content is to have generated it themselves.
