I agree. /R/educe is obviously best, but /R/ecycle is decent, I guess (if the devices truly are recyclable and it's not mere greenwashing). Maybe eventually we can hope for a certain degree of /R/euse (like the sensors could be collected and mailed in somewhere or dropped off at a collection site.
