The sex ed vs pornography section is so sad. If phys ed was taught like sex ed, no one would learn to swim or run the hurdles, they'd just learn to tape ankles and apply ice packs. There is no accepted way for adolescents to learn about sex, at all, yet they socially need to and have incredible hormonal peaks to deal with.

The best parents could do is be the go-to source for their kids, and just answer questions / discuss topics as they come up. Many parents fail at this. Sex-ed in school is 2nd best but poor substitute. And many schools fail even harder here. Which means many kids will learn from... other sources. Including peers (who know 'nothing'), or random porn on the internet. Learning is much about discerning between subtleties, how-to and what's what. In this context: Nudity: just nudity should be considered harmless to any-age kids imho. Even if it's strangers the kids are seeing nude. I have yet to see (strong) evidence to the contrary. "Nudity = bad / weird" is something imprinted on many kids by their parents or society. Not because harmful to children (it's not). Sexual acts: this is a broad subject, and definitions vary. But non-sexual nudity is VERY different from nudity involving sex. Suggestion of sexual activity. Eg. imagery that may not show anything, but is meant to be "sexy" or arouse in some way. Consensual or not. Paid actors or real-life people, etc. Consent matters. Hetero, same-sex or other. Whether something involves constraint (eg. bondage), or even violence. Again here: consent matters. And last but not least: love, friendships, relationships. Always a difficult subject. Most of such topics deserve a gentle introduction, when kid is old enough to understand the concepts (read: young. For example consent: "do you want this, or not?" 3y olds grok that concept). But no earlier than kid showing interest in a topic. And don't get me started on conservative nutjobs who pile all this onto 1 heap, and go berserk when a nipple is exposed. These nutters do more damage to society than all the 'porn' they're crusading against.
