Phenylephrine is a straight up scam. It shouldn't be sold as a nasal decongestant anywhere. In Australia you practically have to undergo an interrogation to get pseudoephedrine, and if you fail the test (which has happened to me, because I said the word 'pseudoephedrine'), they direct you to phenylephrine instead - which does not work.
- ksaj 3y agoI've only ever seen Phenylephrine once, and we didn't bother buying it. The name itself sounds like the cheap knockoff that it is. It's easy to get pseudoephedrine here (but harder to get straight-up ephedrine), but you can't buy the entire store's stock. The only formulation that is behind the shelf is when it is the only drug in the pill. That's probably for the better. But in mix formulations like in most sinus medications, they're on shelf like everything else.
