I genuinely don't understand the impulse to underestimate anybody you're in competition with.
- ksaj 3y agoThe alternate argument is that it is, in fact, collapsing, right now, or immediately about to. If it happens, everyone will be posting that same link and saying, "See, they knew this would happen 22 years ago!" Collapses are sudden. China went from one-child-per to three-children-per. They're antsy about Hong Kong, Taiwan and the South Sea. They're quietly walking away from democracy. Their government is chummy with Russia's government who is exactly as chummy with North Korea's government. They're bullying Naval Philippines on their own waters. Things are changing pretty rapidly in China. Up or down is the question right now.
