I must be the only consumer who despises the thin edges on my current iPhone 14 pro. I'd like to be able to hold my phone and not randomly trigger edge-sensitive gestures like "scroll to top" (that you can't disable!).
- etrautmann 3y agoI agree, but that’s mostly addressed by putting a case on it.
- MaxikCZ 3y agoSo "You are holding it wrong!"?
- etrautmann 3y agofair point - Apple could and should apply some ML to detect false edge presses perhaps, but putting a case on is a way I address this problem immediately. I prefer a case anyway, so it's no issue for me, but to each his or her own.
- eclipticplane 3y agoSelection bias, but when my phone has no case, I never drop it. When I have a case on it, I drop it all the time.
- ksec 3y agoSame here. I dont mind the larger trackpad with smaller edge on the new MacBook, or the thin edge on iPhone, providing they can make the false sensitive trigger at 100% accuracy. Not 99%, or 99.9999%, but infinitely close to 100%. I am not sure even sure if that is possible. But right now it isn't. And the random trigger is annoying enough to side with you on the subject matter.
- Simulacra 3y agoI have never gotten used the notch. It ruined it visually for me.
- theshrike79 3y agoOn phones it's tolerable, because you can kinda palm it and just use the edges of your hand to hold it. But tiny bezels on tablets? Oof. Like the lates Galaxy Tab. How are you supposed to hold it without pressing at least 5 icons accidentally?
