I mean technically all the linux systems on Jupiter have working audio
- speed_spread 3y agoI am confused by the very notion of being "on" Jupiter.
- littlestymaar 3y agoEvery logical statement beginning with `∀ e ⊂ ∅` is true.
- thih9 3y agoIn which case every logical statement belonging to the set of “statements that begin with `∀ e ⊂ ∅` and are false” is true as well.
- jraph 3y agoYes. Try me and find one single counter example to contradict me :-) (edit: You could try something like ∀ e ⊂ ∅ ∨ ⊤ - adding "or true" at the end - but that's not really what littlestymaar meant)

- jraph 3y agoNot sure it's related, this set of statements is not about statements containing themselves or the set itself. You need a set of sets for the Russell paradox to have chances to kick in.
- jraph 3y agoWell, you need to evaluate "{ x | x on Jupiter }" to know that it's ∅.

- jraph 3y agoI love this discussion ><
- speed_spread 3y agoJupiter has no surface, so the proposition doesn't even parse.
- tinsmith 3y agoIn Jupiter, then.
- anon____ 3y agoIn? What does it mean to be in if it has no surface? Let's try something probabilistic instead! Mahalanobis distance?
- littlestymaar 3y agoThe set of 3D positions belonging to the surface of Jupiter is the empty set. All of those points have a Linux system on them with working audio.
- speed_spread 3y agoThere.
- seydor 3y agoatmospheres count!
- sshine 3y agoall atmospheres matter!
- happytoexplain 3y agoWhat do logicians call this? A null positive? Is that allowed? E.g. obviously it's correct that "no Linux systems on Jupiter do not have working audio", but is "all X do/have Y" a valid syntax for zero X?
