Amlodipine is a calcium-channel blocker which lowers blood pressure by promoting systemic vasodilation. This would have a beneficial side effect of counteracting idiopathic vasoconstriction caused by Raynaud syndrome. If the drug is taken with food (when drug absorption is highest), some folks will develop edema in their legs for several hours.
