"fact"
- ivan_gammel 3y agoWell, that is a fact. According to polls Germans do not support their actions. https://www.ndr.de/ndrfragt/Umfrage-Letzte-Generation-geht-Mehrheit-zu-weit,ergebnisse1158.html https://www.ndr.de/ndrfragt/Umfrage-Letzte-Generation-geht-M...
- kitkat_new 3y agoThis has nothing to do with their protests being counter productive. Neither MLK nor the suffragettes had broad support when they protested either, still they had a lot of success so, no it isn't a fact
- ivan_gammel 3y agoHow do you see them being productive? It’s not increased awareness of the public, because we hear now about climate change from every corner. It’s not the sense of urgency, as can be seen from the heated discussion about Heizungsgesetz. It is certainly neither any climate action, nor growing ratings of the Greens. So what exactly did they achieve besides alienating a significant part of German population and making our society more polarized on the climate change topic?
- kitkat_new 3y ago> How do you see them being productive? What does it matter in this context? You claimed it being counter productive would be a fact. It's not on me to proof this in order to disprove your claim. Anyways, there exists a study that shows a radical flank effect for the activists group. They also increased media attention to the climate emergency, whether or not it includes their form of protest (which is inherently linked to the climate emergency)
