I love vintage NPR, Car Talk defined my childhood. NPR used to be so amazing.

  Yes, we would listen for hours, sometimes all day and night. I still love my two NPR stations (I listen to Capradio from Sacramento and the SF one) but they both seem to be mostly political coverage these days

    Indeed. Like so many here, I listened to Car Talk plus Morning Edition and All Things Considered for many years. The degradation of NPR to where it is today—how it is impossible, impossible, to go five minutes without a mention of "racism", "sexism", or homosexuality/"trans rights"—is sad.

      To be clear, in my view, working to fight against those things you mention is important. I'm not personally trying to say anything else. I'm just trying to say it's (NPR) is not entertainment, or wholesome for me personally in the way it once was.
