Windows 10 is just fine for my needs. Yet every weeks my system is kidnapped on startup by a menu full of dark patterns that tries to lure me into installing Windows 11. Not only is it hostile and deceitful, but it fails to explain the advantages of upgrading to 11, which makes it useless.
- raxxorraxor 3y agoI use bios to boot my system and Windows tells me I don't meet the hardware requirements (because I don't use UEFI/secure boot). That completely stops any messages bugging me to upgrade. I just think that the message is quite misleading, because it certainly can run on my hardware. I just need to reformat my drive and activate the TPM. Some people might be inclined to really buy new hardware...

- yomlica8 3y agoI'd just disable the TPM in bios. Although I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to force install it on unsupported hardware.
