I once lived in a condo with a crappy Ikea dishwasher. It did a poor job washing the dishes, made lots of noise, and the arm kept falling off. The fix for the poor washing was so simple: buy cheap Costco dish pods in bulk for CAD 10 (12-13 now) for around 100 pods and just jam two pods in there. Add rinse-aid and voila, sparkling dishes from cheap equipment. I once had a job as a commercial dishwasher, and those machines did the same thing in about a single minute. Of course the chemicals were harsh and the temperature was high.
