Return-to-office is a $1.3T problem few have figured out
- ggm 3y agoYou can't de-construct the listed property value bubble inherent in the city centre office scape, all the jobs associated with construction, and the input supply chain without some consequence. Frankly $1.3T seems low. I think 1/3 to 1/2 of all the value forward in capital and major trading cities worldwide has gone. No amount of conversion to residential is bringing back all of the property trust value. We've just got to live through the unwinding. If you want to see hardcore solutions, go look for the youtube videos from China of neve-occupied residential towers being demolished: Thats what the future holds for the tall cities.
