It sucks because standard of living for the average citizen in the west has failed to keep pace with the rest of the world. It was glorious 4 decades ago because at that time the median American was richer than the wildest fantasies of the median Chinese. That's no longer the case. And these are the effects.
- axpvms 3y agoAirfares are quite a bit cheaper however, and it seems that most passengers are willing to forgo luxuries in order to receive a lower-priced ticket. That's evident by looking at the airline industry in Europe. Those are simple market effects. Regarding China, it's great that large swathes of people are escaping absolute poverty, here's to our shared common prosperity.
