It's a weird article because it starts with reporting and then slides into the author's personal view that he disagrees with the letter.
This does highlight that it's always a vocal minority with an agenda that sets the agenda for regulation, and it's rarely designed with majority interests in mind.
- bzzzt 3y agoDepends on what you call the majority. Studio's want to keep shot footage that can be used for AI and not compensate actors for subsequent usage. That's a competitive advantage and saving costs that could (in theory) be passed down to the consumers. I think media consumers outnumber actors by quite a lot.
