Linux 6.6 WQ Change May Help AMD CPUs and Other Systems with Multiple L3 Caches
- o11c 3y agoPer Phoronix comments, this apparently affects Zen 2 or later (Ryzen 3xxx or higher ignoring the disastrous laptop numbering). Though I expect the low end don't have enough cores to count. My Ryzen 2600 shows 2 separate L3 caches in `lstopo` (only one NUMA node) but apparently this won't have a meaningful effect?
- bravetraveler 3y agoMy read is it's addressing how modern chiplet-based CPUs imitate NUMA nodes with their locality/distance I can't keep all the CCD/CCX stuff together. It varies considerably by generation I'm failing to find anything solid on the 2600... but I'm half asleep and on mobile :D It may help, seems to be two CCXs - but my research is lacking
