My take from reading and listening to things about this is: the jury is still out. All of these ideas are very early in their learning curves, so it seems the relative slopes of those curves is still a very open question.
- ianburrell 3y agoLuckily, we have a couple of decades before need to do carbon capture. For now, it is better to focus on retiring fossil fuels.
- sanderjd 3y agoI've said this in a couple other comments, but my perspective on this is: That's why it's awesome people are working on it now! When you still have a couple decades to travel up the learning curve is exactly the right time to work in earnest on a nascent technology. It's a great thing that people started working on wind and solar power a few decades ago!
