Their point is he is not in prison. Prison is post-conviction. Jail/detention center is pre-trial.

  He's in jail because he violated the terms of his very cushy house-arrest. So I would say he has been imprisoned for violations, even though he hasn't been convicted of his original crime.

There is absolute, incontrovertible, and complete truth that the the only person Bankman-Fried has to blame for his current predicament is himself. And he knew how bad it would be from his previous jail time.
