Sovereignty vs. Society
- throwawayqqq11 3y agoLiberty is an illusion, there is no "paradoxical relationship" between liberty and society. Every society revolves around the satifaction of basic needs. Food, shelter, goods, medical care, social appriciation. A society that does not provide these basic needs wont be a society for much longer. We humans _have to engage_ with society! Our cultural evolution made us raise totally inept babies for a couple of years. No other species has this handycap. We have externalized much of our digestion into kitchens/cooking. If you want to liberate yourself from society, fine, go in the woods and die of tooth decay if you dont mind. If you still feel enslaved, try liberating yourself from oxygen. You cannot escape the physical constrains that shaped everything around -- and including you! The crypto victims followed this "free yourself" illusion but all they got was a shift into a totally unregulated market with powerful agents acting against them. Which is basically, what they tried to overcome in the first place. This whole article tries to tackle the question of liberty or sovereignity but does not touch on its hard border. I think crypto libertarians have too many stakes in play to realize their futile attempt.
