use of calculator destroys your number adding muscles
- lacrimacida 3y agoOnly if you start off with no muscle rely solely on Llms, aka using a calculator and having no idea about doing and operations without one. I tend to agree that taking shortcuts to hard work doesn’t make better artitsts, ultimately those who put time into it get somewhere significant. Id extend this further to not rely solely on only one tool and become at least cognisant of other methods or ways of approaching problems, creative or not. From my experience with Llms I do greatly welcome them and find them quite empowering at times but I use them sparingly or only when I need ‘something else’. Llms are great at pumping out quantity but for quality I’d slow things down considerably

- Zetobal 3y agowe stole, kitbashed, photobashed and used derivatives forever in the VFX/Creative industry. The problem is the idiotic view of the romantic artist. The view mostly gets catered to and by mediocre or slow freelance artists, influencers and amateurs. 80% of artists no matter the industry have no influence on the design they work on...they execute.
- lacrimacida 3y agoWe’re talking about different ‘artists’ here. You seem to mostly emphasize commercial artists. Even for that the decline in quality and originality is obvious, over the years the level of work has declined since most pump out safe undaring cliche after cliche. Just look around, perhaps Hollywood is a good example as you can trace back historically.
- Zetobal 3y agoAs I said you have no idea what you are talking about. Look at the growth of the industry because of the streaming wars and the influx of VFX sweatshops in Asian developing countries.
- lacrimacida 3y agoYeah, you clearly have no idea.
- Zetobal 3y agoGood argument.
- galaxyLogic 3y agoI wonder do many creators start with something generated by AI and then apply their own creativity on top of that?
