I don't think I've ever seen a self-service soda fountain in a McDonalds in the UK, or anywhere else in Europe for that matter. That's a Burger King thing!

- cvccvroomvroom 3y agoThe US has had self-service, unlimited free refills at most fast-food establishments since at least 1980. The cost is in the cup, lid, and straw, not the syrup. Most likely, this is yet another move to extract more money or to deter loitering. Disclaimer: I haven't set foot in a McDonald's in 5 years.
