- Bostonian 3y agoThe subtitle just below the title is "The city is treating our private property as the city's housing stock." I have not misrepresented the theme of the article.
- johnea 3y agoThe title of the Reason article, and this post, are both in right-wing territory. ALL private housing is a "city's housing stock". The idea that just because someone can afford to buy something entitles them to do whatever they want with it is estreemism. If the definition of "property" was restricted to an individual's personal possessions, then stronger demands for autonomy are justified, but when it includes everything owned and operated for profit, we're no longer talking about a person's right to their own property, but about a business model. Which should be more hightly regulated.
