Could these dams be made safer with something like an underwater net (in the turbulent area just below the dam) that would allow water to flow through, but would also give trapped victims an opportunity to climb up to the surface?
- sdiupIGPWEfh 3y agoSounds like a bad idea. Even under ideal conditions, you'd get easily get stuck in the net or otherwise be held in place by the force of moving water.
- yummypaint 3y agoNets would probably become quickly choked with debris. Im wondering about narrow concrete buttresses maybe every 3 meters or so that swimmers could grab onto
- curiousObject 3y agoMaybe there’s a problem with people getting incapacitated by striking the buttresses? But you made a good point about nets getting blocked by debris. Maybe the nets will kill fish as well
