I can use my friend to help draft a paper in several ways: I can plagiarize from my friend's work, which is unethical. Or, I can quote my friend with a citation. This is ethical. Or, I can ask my friend to look over my paper and - without rewriting any part of it - make suggestions on how to improve it. This does not require a citation and is ethical. Nature seems clueless about the different ways my friend (or ChatGPT) can help me draft a paper.
