These ideas are on the mark and very well stated. Relative to the comment on jobs being eliminated, my fear is that the jobs that disappear will be higher paying jobs, and this will further erode the middle of the economy. The new jobs created could be fewer and more intellectually demanding—and quite possibly out of reach for a fair fraction of those whose jobs were eliminated. I recognize that this fear may be irrational, but rapid change will be difficult. I am preparing for a rough ride over the next few years.
