Yeah, I think Uint8Array might've been a strong solution. But I've got the feeling this isn't the whole story. Unless the TSV is extremely wide, this alone feels a bit insignificant. I don't know the details so this is pure speculation, but using a transform stream on each row to split it up might've been enough to reduce memory pressure. I've done a bit of data manipulation in node and while imo js is not the ideal language for the job, it can be very fast. Strings are hard though, I'll admit that
