Many functions have acquired an async variant. For example, „shell-command“ runs shell scripts and redirects their output to a buffer. If you add the ampersand „&“ at the end of your command it won’t block your UI. On the other hand, package upgrades are still blocking with Emacs‘ built-in package manager. I hear „straight.el“ is a good replacement capable capable of running async but it’s an advanced sub system. Do you have some examples?
