The bit about cars: You know who's job it is to regulate companies? The government. After seeing this article, I just read the Hyundai legal texts that apply in Europe (because we have a Hyundai). They make many, many references to the privacy laws here, and how Hyundai complies with them. No mention of gathering medical data, or selling data to third parties, etc.. Folk in the USA (and other countries without privacy laws) need to kick their governments into action.
